Grace was a beacon of light

In the heart of a small, tight-knit community nestled amidst the mountains, creeks and rivers, there lived a woman named Grace Walsh. Grace was a beacon of light, her kindness and compassion touching the lives of everyone she encountered.

I will always remember Grace as someone who epitomized the true spirit of selflessness. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it was organizing food for the Emperors Challenge, braving the elements to pick up and deliver meals on wheels, or working tirelessly alongside the Legion Ladies to prepare food for community events. Grace’s commitment to serving others extended to organizing pancake breakfasts and ensuring the hockey concession was well-stocked and ready for games and tournaments.

I once asked her about her and Frank taking some time for themselves and going on a nice vacation. Her response was simple yet profound: “I do what I do because it makes me happy.” Grace found joy in giving back to her community, and her dedication was truly inspiring.

One unforgettable moment was when Grace received the Chamber of Commerce Community Excellence Citizen of the Year Award. Her genuine shock and humility were evident as she exclaimed, “Wow, people must think a lot of me!” If only she knew how much she was loved and respected by all who knew her.

Grace Walsh’s legacy of love, compassion, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. She was a shining example of the difference one person can make in the lives of others, and she will be deeply missed.
