After a two year hiatus, the Tumbler Ridge Triathlon happened on Saturday, June 18.
The first solo competitor across the line was Senior Male Charles Helm, with a time of 1:32.27, followed by the first of the female athletes, Senior Female Birgit Sharman, less than two minutes later, with a time of 1:34.08.
Next across the finish line was Michael Naylor, who placed first in the Men’s open division, with a time of 1:42.43, then Chris Norbury, with a time of 1:56.24, placing second.
The last two competitors across the line were open female division winner Mckenzie Brown, with a time of 2:11.03 and second place open female division racer Laura Flores, at 3:21.53.
First place in the mixed team category was the Dawson Dufresnes, with a time of 1:20.40, followed by the Hoogenbacks (from Fort St. John), with a time of 1:21.35. Rounding out the category was TR Team the Rad Noods, with a time of 1:31.11. There was one Female Team from Tumbler Ridge, called We Are Enough, who crossed the finish line in 1:45.41.
Finally, the male teams saw the Elk Tribe finish in 1:27.30, Dragdnul at 1:38.01 and Three’s Company, with a time of 2:00.41 seconds.
