Thanks to Jay, who got the ball rolling, Pernel, who donated his genie-lift, Monty, who did the electrical wiring, and Jan and Dean, who donated the lights. That Sunday, less than forty-eight hours later, the cross was lit and shining bright for the entire town to see!
“We were amazed at how quickly it came together,” Gerald said. “Two other people came to the church the next day to offer to make it happen, but things were already underway. Then we got a call from someone in Alberta who had watched the vigil, and another letter from someone in Southern BC, both wanting to do the same! It is amazing how quickly it all took place, and we are so grateful.”

At the vigil on February 13, Pastor Gerald Krauss made a comment at the end of his speech about wanting to light the cross on top of New Life Assembly’s church in honour of the children. By the time he got home that evening, someone had already texted to say it was happening!
