This weekend saw a U11 tournament in town, the last (currently planned) games on the minor hockey schedule before the ice comes out at the end of the month. The last game against Chetwynd, especially, was a crowd pleaser, as the U11 Raptors were down 3-0 at the start of the third period, but managed to tie the game up by the end of the third and scored early in overtime to win.
Speaking of hockey, Tumbler Ridge has been proclaimed the provincial winner in Kraft’s Hockeyville contest. This means the community gets $50,000 in arena upgrades and has a chance at $250,000. The top two arenas will be announced on March 21.
