District looking for feedback on new business licence bylaw

Back in May, the district passed a new Zoning Bylaw.

The bylaw introduced new business categories. Now the district is looking at redressing the Business Licence Bylaw.

“This isn’t just about aligning two bylaws—” says the Business Licence Bylaw Work Group in a survey that was recently sent out to businesses “—it’s about making the licensing process better for everyone. We want to hear from the people who live, work, and do business in Tumbler Ridge. What’s working? What’s not? What ideas do you have? Now’s the time to speak up, share your insights, and help shape a bylaw that truly supports our local business community.”

The committee is looking for information on how familiar local business owners are with the current Business Licence and Zoning Bylaws, what improvements business owners would like to see in an updated Business Licence Bylaw, what sort of challenges are there with the current licencing process, as well as what is working and what is not, as well as the appropriateness of the fees.

The survey is available online through Microsoft Forms, and can be found at the District Website (www.districtoftumblerridge.ca) and Facebook page.
