On June 30, Council approved the sale of Monkman RV Park to Dunne Za Ventures Limited Partnership (Dunne Za Economic Development Corp) for $730,100.
The 55-site RV park has been for sale for years, but at the end of last month, it was announced that the District would be selling the 18.73 ha lot.
At the current rate of $28.57 per night, the campsite would need 25,555 camp nights to cover the purchase cost, which sounds like a lot, but that’s only 465 nights of full occupancy.
And those are summer rates. In the winter, the rates are $40, though only 13 sites are winterized.
The park is (was?) owned by the District and being run by the Grizzly Valley Days Society in order to help fund their volunteer programs.
