If you’re picking this paper up after May 5, you’ve missed your chance to get the annual Mother’s Day Basket from the Tumbler Ridge Geopark, and sponsored by Meikle Wind.
However, if it’s before that date and you wanted a chance at one of the boxes, read on.
According to Chris Norbury, Visitor Centre Manager, Mother’s Day is one of the most celebrated days of the year. “Rightfully so, as everybody has a mother, and we want to celebrate them.”
So for this year, they have planned to deliver gift boxes for up to 500 mothers, to be delivered around town on the morning of May 11.
“We currently have just over 460 registered now,” says Norbury. “Next Monday, May 5, is the last day to sign up.”
Inside each box, says Norbury, will be a mixture of handmade products by 19 different local artisans, artists and other crafters. “Now not all the boxes are the same, but there’s going to be a lot of similarities. There’s a theme across all boxes, in that almost every box is going to have a drinkware of some type, a journal, a candle, a beauty product of some type. We have facial toner, skin cream, and handmade soaps. We also have other items such as like key chains and stuff like that. Finally, we’re going to be giving out bookmarks.”
Norbury says that the program is sponsored by Meikle Wind. “We’re very we’re very lucky they are sponsoring this initiative for us. It’s going to be our biggest year ever.”
