Liam, Maddi and James were one of the teams competing in the annual adventure race, held at Gwillim Lake. Liam’s mom Sarah Gamble (who took the photo, as I was off shooting Bluey Day in Fort St John) says: “A 4 km canoe, 8 km mountain bike and 8 km trek. They were the only team of just grade six students (the youngest who can enter) from our school, and competed with 18 teams from across the school district. They finished 11th overall against students up to grade 12! They worked so hard and worked together the whole way. My thanks to Miss Dennis as their teacher sponsor who gave up her Friday night and Saturday to allow them to race, and to all the volunteers who put this on.
“We are so fortunate to have the Pat O’Reilly Outdoor Education Centre just half an hour away from town.”
