Do you know your Lions?

Early in February, the Membership Drive Committee had prepared three questions to gain some insight into what the Community of Tumbler Ridge remembers about the Lions Club of Tumbler Ridge activities, events and support. The attached questions with answers are the feedback we received.

Are you aware of any contributions the Lions Club have made to your community?

  • YES!
  • Raffles.
  • Bingo.
  • Meals on Wheels three times per week for the less fortunate.
  • Low income and Seniors in need.

How would you describe your experience at any Lions events (e.g. Pancake Breakfasts, BBQ’s etc.)

  • Amazing.
  • Friendly volunteers, good food.
  • Very affordable and for a great purpose of donating to others less fortunate.
  • Fundraising on many occasions, donations for many others.
  • Well organized, always more volunteers required.
  • Volunteers work hard to make the events outstanding for other Clubs.

What positive affect have the Lions had in your life?

  • Hockey – they donate to all community events and provide service no other can provide. Everyone serving always has a smile!
  • BBQs to raise funding for the Community. (e.g. Food Bank) including the Standing Donation List 2024.
  • The Lions have not affected me directly, but the club does a lot for our community and families in it.
  • Campground availability for family camping – hiking trials, swimming, playground for kids, Group Camping for Family Reunions and Weddings.
