Behold, the newly renamed Tumbler Ridge Fairgrounds, whose new name is Tumbler Ridge Fair Grounds.
The new name has a subtitle, though: Supported by Conuma Resources.
Conuma is providing $30,000 over the next three years for the right to name the fairgrounds. Instead of changing the name, they have simply added their support to the sign and branding.
The $30,000 is being used by the Tumbler Ridge Days Society to improve and upgrade the fairgrounds, with an eye towards finally bringing back Grizfest.
The agreement went into effect in August of 2023, and will remain in effect until Q3 2026, at which time Conuma will have the right of First Refusal. If they decide to keep supporting the Fairground, it will be at $5000 annually moving forward.
The new name, which was approved at the September 5 council meeting, was already on display at the Fall Fair, September 10.
“We’re thrilled to be creating lasting partnerships with other community groups and businesses to bring family events to residents and visitors alike to Tumbler Ridge,” says Terry Lynn Cosgrove, president of the Tumbler Ridge Days Society. “The amount of support we have received from Conuma Resources has been phenomenal. We appreciate their support and look forward to cultivating a lasting relationship.”
