With a 25,000 ha wildfire sleeping next door, the District wisely decided to not do fireworks for Canada Day this year. Instead, during the day, a BBQ was held, children’s games were played, the national anthem was sung, “bingo” was shouted and cupcakes were enjoyed.
As well as the events at the Community Centre, the Wolverine Nordic and Mountain Society held their annual run (and walk) up Babcock Mountain. We were at the Community Centre to capture the events of the day, while Jolene Couture sent us pictures from Babcock.
