Former Tumbler Ridge resident Jason Unser passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022, at the age of 42 years. Jason was born in Brooks, Alberta and lived in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia for 18 years where he worked as Park Facility Operator.
He was a member of the Wolverine Nordic Mountain Society, and involved in building the Cascades Trail Project in 2006, and in the Monkman memorial Trail in the summer of 2008.
He moved to Dawson Creek about a decade ago, but loved bing in the wilderness. When not exploring the Tumbler Ridge area, he would be out gold mining throughout BC.
Jason will be missed by all his friends and family and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting this kind soul.
Jay is predeceased by his father Ken Town and his grandparents Casper and Pearl Unser.
Jay is survived by his best friend Daniel Cassan, mother Shirley Unser, brother Jeff Unser, half sister Laura Town, nephews Layne Pearce and Dylan Unser, nice Ella Unser, as well as many extended friends and family.
With respect for Jason’s wishes, there will not be a formal service. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Jason to SPCA South Peace Branch, 11418 3rd Street, Dawson Creek, BC V1G 4L5, Canada.
