The sixth place Mackenzie Mountaineers managed to take second place Northern Alberta Tomahawks into overtime before losing in overtime during a GMHL Junior A league game held in Tumbler Ridge on Saturday, February 12. Mackenzie dominated the first period, jumping out to a lead that stretched to five points before the Tomahawks mounted their comeback. In the end, the Tomahawks won the game 9-8.
