Tumbler Ridge Veteran Glenn Miller was recently awarded a Quilt of Valor by Chris Boomer and members of the Tumbler Ridge Fire Department. A Quilt of Valour is “a hug from a grateful nation and a tribute to an injured Canadian Armed Forces member, past or present.” The quilt was made by Boomer’s mom, Cam, who organizes the program in this area. She says she is always looking for quilters who are willing and able to help, as well as nominations for veterans to receive a quilt. Contact Camellia.pratt@quiltsofvalour.ca.
