Team Russia was here for the better part of the week, training for the World Junior A Challenge, which ended December 15. As part of that, members of the Tumbler Ridge Raptors had a chance to play with during their Monday Night practice.
After the game, the team went and had supper at Club 55 North with a number of dignitaries, including Dawson Creek Mayor Dale Bumstead and Tumbler Ridge staff and council, including Will Howe (bottom). Howe is holding a hockey stick that he was given 30 years ago by a player from the Russian National Team when they were in Dawson Creek for a hockey tournament when Howe was a kid.
