The May long weekend is famous for seeing snow. Surprisingly, there was none.
Even more surprisingly, despite the lack of snow, Dawson Creek sledder Dusty Friesen took his sled over Flatbed Falls.
The stunt, performed May 20 just after noon, saw the rider race his sled down the swollen creek, then over the waterfall.
Both machine and rider survived the stunt.
“I didn’t land where I wanted to,” an excited Friesen told a crowd of friends and watchers-on, “but I landed it.”
