The results were in last night at 11, but Snoriders Magazine has made it official: Tumbler Ridge has won the SledTown ShowDown.
“Congratulations to Tumbler Ridge, SnoRiders’ 2019 SledTown ShowDown Champion!,” reads the announcement.
“Voters around Western Canada deemed Tumbler Ridge the most worthy destination to take their snowmobiles for a ride.”
Tumbler Ridge gathered 51,553 votes, to best Flin Flon, Manitobas 51,296 votes in an epic final showdown.
While Flin Flon would take the early lead in voting every day, Tumbler Ridge would close strong, owing to the hour’s time difference between the two border towns. And, as the contest ended in the evening, Tumbler Ridge was able to come on strong in the last few hours to overtake, then defeat the Northern Manitoba town.
